What is a subdomain? How do I create a subdomain?

A subdomain is a subsection of a main domain, in this format:

  • subdomain.maindomain.com
Sub domains allow clients to create completely separate websites with human-readable names without having to register multiple domain names.
For instance, a main website may be called yourdomain.com, but a subdomain may be Torums.yourdomain.com.

To create a subdomain:
  1. Login to cPanel.
  2. Locate and click on the "Redirects" icon under the "Domains" category.
  3. Enter the URL you want to redirect from, and then the URL you want to redirect to.
  4. Click on the "Add" button to create the redirect.
